TMU Celebrates 61 Scholars Recognized in the 2025 World’s Top 2% Scientists List

61 scholars from Taipei Medical University (TMU) were recognized on the 2025 World’s Top 2% Scientists List[1] jointly released by Stanford University and the renowned academic publishing group Elsevier. Among them, 31 were recognized on the Career-Long Impact List, 46 on the Single-Year (2025) Impact List, and 16 received dual recognition on both lists. This remarkable achievement not only demonstrates TMU’s outstanding scientific research energy and global influence but also confirms the University’s robust strength—a result of its long-term dedication to medical and health science research.
The 2025 World’s Top 2% Scientists List contains two sub-lists:
- Career-Long Impact List: This list ranks scientists based on their long-term research contribution over their entire career. 31 TMU scholars were recognized on this list for their research across diverse fields, including medicine, pharmacy, nursing, public health, medical technology, and medical engineering and management.
- Single-Year Impact List: This list focuses on scientists’ research performance during the most recent year, reflecting their latest scientific research accomplishments. 46 TMU scholars were recognized on this list for their outstanding performance in diverse fields, including artificial intelligence in healthcare, oncology, oral medicine, drug development, nursing, and epidemiology. These achievements fully demonstrate TMU’s leading position in precision medicine, smart healthcare, and translational clinical research.
The recognition of 61 TMU scholars in the World’s Top 2% Scientists List reflects the global community’s continued acknowledgment of TMU’s research excellence and interdisciplinary achievements. [1] The World’s Top 2% Scientists List is a ranking jointly released by a research team led by Professor John P. A. Ioannidis of Stanford University School of Medicine and the globally renowned publisher Elsevier. The list, based on the Scopus database, analyzes the research performance of over 8 million scientists worldwide through six objective metrics: total papers, citation count, h-index, co-author ranking weight, self-citation adjusted impact, and comprehensive c-score.
