In early July 2024, the OGE successfully hosted an exciting Chinese boot camp. This event attracted students from India, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Myanmar, who all spent a fulfilling and unforgettable time together.

One of the highlights for most students was the Mandarin classes. In these sessions, they learned essential Chinese skills for everyday life, such as how to order drinks and bargain. The students expressed that these practical language skills would help them communicate more comfortably in Taiwan.

In addition to classroom learning, we organized a variety of cultural activities. The students visited iconic landmarks such as Longshan Temple, Bopiliao, Sanshui Street Market, and the National Palace Museum. These activities not only deepened their understanding of Chinese culture but also gave them a chance to experience the history and customs of Taiwan firsthand.

During the hands-on activities, the students made herbal sachets themselves. This activity taught them traditional herbs and sparked their creativity and manual skills. Each herbal sachet was filled with the students’ effort and creativity, becoming a precious souvenir of their boot camp journey.

The Chinese boot camp concluded successfully, with students not only improving their Chinese language skills but also deeply appreciating the charm of Chinese culture. Students from different countries formed strong friendships here, making this a memorable experience that will stay with them for a lifetime. We look forward to more opportunities like this in the future, where more students can participate, learn, and grow together.
