WHY US
The Graduate Institute of Mind Brain and Consciousness (GIBMC) brings together faculty and principal investigators from diverse backgrounds to pursue a shared mission to investigate the manifold aspects of the relationship between the mind and brain, with a special emphasis on cognition and consciousness.
COURSES INTRODUCTION
Using cognitive neuroscience, psychology, engineering, informatics, physiology, philosophy, biology, physics, and philosophy, our faculty and students from around the world pursue questions relating to both pathologies and healthy brains. Some of these research directions include perception, memory, social cognition, sleep, circadian rhythm, major depression, and bipolar disorder.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 31 credits, including 22 credits of required courses.
(Students can take up to 6 elective credits from other PhD programs where approved by their advisor)
FUTURE CAREER PATH
Students at GIMBC have access to various brain imaging technologies, including EEG, fMRI, noninvasive brain stimulation, as well as facilities for research using animal models. Taught fully in English, our program places a strong emphasis on hands-on training and the close integration of course work with student designed research projects, which gives graduates skills that can be directly transferred to research careers.
