Advancing Medical Research and Healthcare Development in New Southbound Policy Countries

Taipei Medical University (TMU), in collaboration with Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, recently hosted international healthcare professionals through the New Southbound Policy Elite Study Program, welcoming 20 participants from eight countries to its campus.
The five-month program, running from September 2025 to January 2026, is designed for young talents and healthcare professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of healthcare systems, engage in medical research, and advance their professional development. Participants benefit from access to TMU’s world-class academic and research resources while gaining international experience.
Throughout the program, participants took part in coursework, research internships, and academic presentations, addressing global health challenges such as aging societies, chronic disease management, and healthcare innovation.
Beyond academic training, the program also emphasizes cultural exchange and community engagement. Participants joined service-learning activities, local community visits, and cultural experiences, offering deeper insights into Taiwan’s society and healthcare environment.
The program reflects TMU’s strong commitment to international engagement and global health education, fostering long-term collaboration with emerging healthcare leaders from partner countries.
