AI for All, All with AI— Taipei Medical University Celebrates its 64th Anniversary, Advancing Towards a Smart University

In celebration of its 64th anniversary, Taipei Medical University (TMU) introduced the core value of Leading a Promising Future as a Smart University for the upcoming years.
Ching-Yi Lin, the Deputy Ministers of Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare, graced and confirmed TMU’s assistance and endeavors in conducting the prevention during the COVID-19 pandemic.
TMU has always prioritized eliminating health inequalities and improving public health. Through its comprehensive approach, encompassing education, hospital management, and its own healthcare system, TMU remains at the forefront of the medical field. In 2024, TMU focused on transforming into a smart healthcare system by integrating medical information from its three affiliated hospitals, enhancing patient convenience and reducing human costs. Additionally, TMU embraces its role as a global citizen, striving for a sustainable future. Initiatives include providing free medical services in rural areas, adopting green facilities, and promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among staff and students.
“Starting from the 64th year, TMU will march to its goal ‘AI for All, All with AI,’” remarked Ray-Jade Chen, the Chairman of TMU Board of Trustees. Embracing the integration of AI, TMU incorporates this technology into its education and healthcare system. Examples include incorporating AI into courses to equip students with essential skills and utilizing AI in clinical trials to advance precision medicine. TMU also expanded its services by opening its first smart long-term care facility in May 2024.
TMU actively seeks opportunities to reinforce collaboration with international and interdisciplinary experts in order to establish a pioneeringly innovative biomedical era of TMU.
