Since 2011, Feng-Hsing Team (FH Team) has been serving on Gaillardia Island, part of the Penghu archipelago, expanding from a mere 4 villages to 30 villages today. Their medical services cover a wide range of healthcare needs, including free clinical examinations, visiting people in need of medical resources, and promoting medical knowledge. Additionally, to continue their impact on the island, the FH Team collaborates with professional medical staff on a long-term care project. During the project, team members provide necessary medical resources and assistance to patients’ homes every 2 months. By collaborating with the Penghu County Government, the FH Team assists in monitoring each patient’s condition and involves medical institutions if necessary. Last year, the FH Team held lectures on wound care and wheelchair adjustments for caretakers on the island, hoping to meet the residents’ needs.

FH Team proactively integrates the resources within TMU, collaborating with other clubs and holding med camps for senior high school students. The med camps guide senior high students to Taiwan’s rural areas, reaching out to children from underprivileged families. The med camps effectively introduce medical knowledge to these children while cultivating medical talents in the next generation.

FH Team expressed their gratitude and appreciation for being recognized by the government for their efforts. “‘See and care for where our (medical professions’) responsibilities are needed’ is our core value.” FH Team stated. With this value, the FH Team is ready to face future challenges and persist in its goal of promoting and elevating the quality of medical healthcare service.
