You-Rong Chen (陳祐蓉), Director of Nursing of Shuang-Ho Hospital received the 25th The Ten Outstanding Young Women Award in April 2021.

Director of Nursing You-Rong Chen (陳祐蓉) joined Shuang-Ho Hospital in 2015 and was responsible for establishing a dedicated ward for dementia patients. This ward is the first in the nation to provide comprehensive continuous and integrated care for dementia patients and their families. It provides caregivers with information and consultation on care skills to reduce the stress on caregivers.
Over the past few years, the Director You-Rong Chen of Nursing has committed to professional development and obtained an international certification for dementia care. She has also continued carrying out innovative research on dementia, and established empirical, scientific and innovative specialized nursing care. She has been leading her nursing team to make ongoing progress and obtained the SNQ national quality certification.

| The Ten Outstanding Young Women Award is the only national award in Taiwan that focuses on young women. Established in 1966, it has 55 years of history. Award winners are limited to women aged between 20 to 40 years old. Each year, only 10 outstanding young women who have consistently been esteemed and valued by society are selected. The award encourages using talents to serve society and is intended to cultivate outstanding women to serve the country. Valuing contribution of women is not only a well-established practice of the society but also support for the government’s efforts regarding the United Nation’ s Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). |
