Dr. Tuyen Van Duong of TMU College of Nutrition Honored with Yufong International Health Literacy Awards

Dr. Tuyen Van Duong from TMU College of Nutrition was honored with the 2024 Yufong International Health Literacy Awards the 10th Asian Health Literacy Association (AHLA) International Health Literacy Conference.


This prestigious recognition celebrates his significant contributions to the development of health literacy both locally and internationally.

Dr. Duong earned his master’s and doctoral degrees from TMU College of Nutrition in 2011 and 2016, respectively. He then became an assistant professor when he became a permanent resident of Taiwan. Additionally, Duong served as the vice president of AHLA in Geneva, Switzerland, from 2019 to 2024. His outstanding academic achievements won him more than 15 awards from international academic institutions all over the world, including America, Vietnam, and Switzerland. Moreover, Duong has been invited to serve as a visiting lecturer at the School of Medicine of Tufts University since 2018.

As of March 2024, Duong has published about 70 original research articles in 30 ISI-indexed periodicals. He was elected as the Chair of the Scientific Standards Committee and a member of the Executive Board of the International Health Literacy Association in Boston, USA (2022–2025). Currently, his collaborates closely with distinguished scholars and research institutions from Europe, Australia, America and Africa.
