Student Life

Taipei

Taipei is the capital city of Taiwan. With its busy shopping streets and contemporary buildings, Taipei serves as the island’s financial, cultural and governmental center. The skyline is crowned by the bamboo-shaped Taipei 101 skyscraper, with upscale shops at the base and a rapid elevator to an observatory near the 508-meter top.

The downtown area offers enjoyable contrasts, with the west side’s narrow streets and street vendors showing Taipei’s past. The city’s east side is now its financial and commercial center, with the Xinyi District’s malls and nightlife representing the city’s metamorphosis into a modern international city.

Cultural Events

TMU encourages sharing of cultures and heritage among local and foreign staff/students, facilitates social integration between different nationality groups, and creates bonding across the campus. There is a series of cultural exchange events organized by the Office of Global Engagement, Office of Student Affairs, and student association to showcase the campus’s energetic spirit and cultural diversity.

Chinese Language Courses

TMU is committed to facilitating ease of adjustment for new students with technology-assisted information dissemination and ample resources on campus. The University offers Chinese language courses to international students and promotes their communication with local students and faculty.

TMU Housing

Located near TMU main campus, we provide 4 off-campus international student houses; two for males and another two for females. Each house has a residential assistant to assist and deal with tenants’ needs.
