Personal Health Records (PHRs) is a useful tool for managing personal health information. It can further provide care and support to cancer patients (which are mostly old age people in case of cancer) using wearable and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. Also, we can use predictive analytics to develop solutions for early risk prediction of cancer.
The TEEP AsiaPlus program enables Taipei Medical University (TMU) to invite emerging researchers from its potential partners, from different sectors in healthcare domain, for conducting research programs. The planning of the program at TMU is designed to combine medical and informatics, so as to become a multidisciplinary research center that meets the requirements of information technology era. The medical informatics at TMU includes basic and clinical medicine in computing information technology (IT), health analytics, and conventional medical informatics database knowledge that can be applied to the diagnosis, treatment, education, and literature research of other relevant fields. The various advancing techniques that will be implemented include those related to big data analytics, artificial intelligence, and health internet of things which adds to the implementation of IoT to smart health care. The fourth industrial revolution is marked by the emerging technology developments especially in artificial intelligence and internet of things. Research using smart wearable devices that monitors patients’ health condition, and big data predictive analytics are being conducted at TMU affiliated hospitals. Thus, the ultimate aim is to traverse and make best use of the available resources.
