Work Permit Information

⚠️  International students who would like to work/intern in Taiwan are required to apply for work permission regardless of the place of employment.

⚠️  International students working without a work permit could be fined between NT$30,000 to NT$150,000. Students need to be aware that unauthorized employment could lead to deportation.

Foreign Students Taking Part-time Jobs Regulations

Refer to Article 50 of Employment Services Act and Article 30 to 35 of Regulations on the Permission and Administration of the Employment of Foreign Workers.

    • NT$100 per semester
  • The period validity
    • The period validity of a work permit is 12 months at most.
  • Working Time Limit
    • The maximum working hours are 20 hours per week, except during summer and winter vacations

  • It is mandatory for all students holding work permits to report their employer details and the number of hours worked each semester to the school.

Application Process

Required document
  1. Valid Passport Copy
  2. Student ID Card Copy (should be stamped by Registration Section and marked current semester)
  3. Valid ARC Copy
  4. TMU International Student Work Pre-Application Form (upload as “Others (including school required documents)“)

It usually takes 7-10 working days to get the work permit. Log in the online system with your account to see the application status.
