Centered on the theme “Towards a Sustainable Future,” the Summit focused on diverse issues including international sustainability standards, green finance, circular economy, green talent cultivation, and technology-enabled carbon reduction. The event gathered leading experts in sustainability along with key representatives from the financial, technology, and environmental sectors across government, academia, and industry to engage in cross-disciplinary dialogue and knowledge exchange, collectively exploring pathways toward a net-zero transition.
TMU joined the opening ceremony led by President Mai-Szu Wu and Vice Dean Chih-Lung Lin of the Office of Sustainable Development, together with 25 faculty members and international students. Their participation highlighted TMU’s global perspective and achievements in advancing diversity and international engagement in sustainability education.
The opening ceremony featured keynote sharing by three higher education institutions recognized for their leadership in ESG promotion. Professor Chi-Jui Chang, Dean of the College of Business at National Taipei University (NTPU), emphasized the university’s efforts in advancing green finance and sustainable investment. Professor Wen-Che Chang, Director of the Center for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development at National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU), highlighted ocean conservation as the core of responsible practice. Vice Dean Chih-Lung Lin of the Office of Sustainable Development at TMU underscored the university’s initiatives in energy-saving, carbon-reduction measures, and medical waste management within its healthcare system. Together, the three universities demonstrated the diverse pathways higher education can take in advancing ESG practices.
In addition to keynote speeches and expert panels, the Summit also featured two exhibition zones showcasing how recycled materials and digital communications contribute to sustainability. Through corporate demonstrations and product displays, participants gained a deeper appreciation of how environmental sustainability is closely connected to daily life and witnessed collective efforts being made to realize a sustainable future.
Moving forward, TMU remains dedicated to promoting low-carbon operations, advancing sustainability education, and strengthening its role in building a healthier, more sustainable future for Taiwan and the global community.
