TMU Indian Polymer Nanomedicine Chemist Receives Plum Blossom Card

Dr. Vijayakameswara Rao Neralla, an Assistant Professor at Taiwan Medical University, School of Pharmacy, has recently been awarded the Plum Blossom Card.


Plum Blossom Card serves as a permanent residence certificate for foreign senior professionals needed by Taiwan, investment immigrants, or those who have made special contributions to Taiwan.

Originally from Andhra Pradesh, India, Dr. Rao has been recognized for his impactful work in the field of polymer nanomedicine. Before joining Taipei Medical University, he served as a research professor in South Korea as a recipient of a Korean research fellowship, and came to Taiwan in 2015 and secured a position as an assistant professor at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Chemical Engineering Department for 5 years.

Dr. Rao has been awarded multiple research grants from Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and has earned both national and international accolades for his work. He holds a PhD from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Kolkata, India. His research focuses on polymer synthesis for cancer treatment and drug delivery, and his findings have been published in scientific journals such as ACS Nano Letters, Small, Biomacromolecules, and Macromolecules.
