In the U-start Plan for Innovation and Entrepreneurship organized by the Ministry of Education in November 2023, three innovative teams from Taipei Medical University (TMU) collectively garnered over 2 million NTD in project funding. This achievement positioned TMU at the top of all universities nationwide.
Under the assistance of Yi-Hsin Hsu, Professor at TMU’s EMBA (Biotechnology Executive Master’s Degree in Administration) Program, the three winning teams— Deities Within the Mountains (山上有神), Hai-Si Information Technology Company (Hai-Si IT), and Ai-Xing Medical Alliance, combined their entrepreneurship experience and passion, ultimately accomplishing their dream products. Recognizing the lack of legal information resources for start-ups in our society, Hai-Si IT developed a marketing copy proofreading and advisory system, preventing start-ups from violating laws due to a lack of related knowledge. On the other hand, Ai-Xing Medical Alliance, aiming to promote the integration of medical sources, provided a concrete proposal to leverage the efficiency of self-pays for the healthcare market.
Finally, Deities Within the Mountains unveiled an innovative mountain-climbing first-aid kit. Designed by avid mountain enthusiasts, the kit includes essentials for survival and incorporates a low-power LoRa communication module to transmit users’ locations. The team is actively working on adding drone integration to further aid rescue teams, aiming to enhance efficiency and provide hope to those in distress.
TMU believes that a part of innovative power lies within the younger generation, given their unique perspective on the world. Consequently, TMU has established an education center tailored for emerging entrepreneurs aiming to provide valuable advice from business experts. The triumph of the three teams highlights TMU’s commitment to nurturing and advancing its goal of integrating recourses from industry, academia, and medicine.
