TMU Joins Asia-Pacific Association for International Education Fair in Singapore

The Asia-Pacific Association for International Education 2018 (APAIE 2018) was held at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore with the theme of the Fourth Industrial Revolution’s Impact on Asia-Pacific Higher Education.

The APAIE conference is a major event for educators focused on developing higher education in the region and worldwide. More than 1600 Asia-Pacific educators from 56 countries discussed educational issues and organized collaborations and cooperative projects. Taiwan’s educational institutions have attended APAIE for many years, and each year approximately 60% of conference attendees establish collaborative relationships with Taiwan institutions.

TMU was represented by Dean Pei-Shan Tsai from the Office of Global Engagement and the Global Partnerships section. The team discussed closer collaborations with current TMU partners Dalhousie University in Canada and Chung-Ang University in Korea on medical and nursing collaborations to develop Ph.D. courses, graduate student exchanges, internships and summer courses at hospitals affiliated with these universities. New European collaborations were also sought via discussions with I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University on neuroscience, drug research and infectious disease research partnerships.
