TMU Visit to ChongQing University

On October 11 – 14, 2019, Vice-President Wu visited ChongQing University (CQU) on behalf of President Lin. Presidents and University representatives from the Excellent Long-Established University Consortium of Taiwan (ELECT) also participated the 90th anniversary ceremony of CQU.

One of the highlights of this visit is the partnership signing ceremony between TMU and CQU; CQU is one of the leading universities in South West China and it became the 9th member of China’s prestigious “Excellence League” in 2010, which is an alliance of Chinese universities with strong backgrounds in engineering. Vice-President Wu signed the MoU with President Zhang of CQU, and President Wu from Shih Hsin University signed the alliance-level MoU with President Zhang during the ceremony.

Vice-President Wu delivered a speech titled “Innovation and development of high education in the era of new scientific and technological revolution” in the Presidential forum, and he also expressed and exchanged his viewpoints of trends in the higher education sector with President Neville G. Pinto, University of Cincinnati, and other heads of institution from the United Kingdom, Australia, and mainland China.

During the meeting between CQU and ELECT, Vice-President Wu mentioned that TMU welcomes future opportunities to work with CQU in student and faculty exchange, and he invited students from the CQU International Cultural Festival to have a short term study at TMU; he also extended the invitation to President Zhang to participate TMU’s 60th anniversary celebration next year.
