Tokyo Medical and Dental University welcomes TMU team for 4th bilateral symposium

A TMU delegation led by Board of Trustees Chairman Wen-Chang Chang and College of Medicine and College of Oral Medicine faculty visited Tokyo Medical and Dental University in Japan and jointly held the TMU-TMDU Joint Symposium 2018.

The themes included cancer diagnosis and treatment, cancer stem cells and carcinogenesis. The event attracted numerous Japanese scholars. Since 2013, the universities have taken turns hosting such events every 18 months, and this is the fourth such gathering.

The university has maintained academic exchanges with Tokyo Medical and Dental University for over a decade, starting in 2004 with the colleges of medicine and oral medicine forming partnerships and leading to a sister schools agreement in 2015. The next joint symposium is set for November 2019; National Taiwan University and the National Defense Medical Center were also invited to co-host the event in Taipei.

TMU PhD Student Fang-Chi Hsu Went to Johns Hopkins University for a Year of Research upon Receiving a Subsidy Provided by the Ministry of Science and Technology

Encouraged by teachers and classmates, Fang-Chi Hsu, a PhD Student of the PhD Program for Transcriptional Medicine of the College of Medical Science and Technology, Taipei Medical University, departed for Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center (SKCCC) of Johns Hopkins University (JHU) in 2020 for a year of research upon receiving a subsidy through the Graduate Student Study Abroad Program provided by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
