WHY US

Located in the heart of Taipei, the Master in Public Health program is designed to give future public health professionals a comprehensive understanding of epidemiology, biostatistics, and environmental, occupational, and community health. Research at the school of Public Health is supported by TMU allied hospitals and through dual-degree programs offered in conjunction with the University of Southern California; University of California, Los Angeles; Case Western Reserve University, and the School of Medicine at Australia University of Wollongong.

COURSES INTRODUCTION

Our program is designed to give students the ability to analyze and solve public health issues. This aim is accomplished by providing rigorous academic and practical trainings. In addition to a detailed understanding of biostatistics, occupational and environmental epidemiology, community health, and health policy, students will learn problem solving skills, research design and statistical analysis.

To complete their degree, students must design and complete supervised research in a topic of their choice, such as in children’s’ or women’s health, non-communicable disease studies, pollution assessment, occupational hazards, health insurance policy, or health promotion.

 ◆  Environmental and occupational epidemiology 2 credits

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

  • The Public Health master’s degree is a two-year (four-semester) program requiring completion of 30 credits, including 16 credits of required courses.

FUTURE CAREER PATH

Masters of Public Health are well-equipped to pursue a wide range of career opportunities. Many graduates go on to complete PhD degrees in public health, environmental medicine, hospital management, health administration, industrial hygiene, epidemiology, or biostatistics. Others begin careers with pharmaceutical companies, government agencies, research organizations, or as project managers for NGOs.
