Assistant Professor Tuyen Van Duong from the TMU School of Nutrition and Health Sciences, College of Nutrition was recently awarded the Young Investigator Award for his outstanding achievements and innovation in public health in the 52nd Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health (APACPH) Virtual Conference.
Speaking on the topic “Health Literacy, Fear of COVID-19, and Health-Related Behaviors Among Undergraduate Medical Students” as a part of HRA project on COVID-19, Professor Tuyen Van Duong shared his research findings focusing on medical students’ lifestyle changes (in exercising, smoking, alcohol use, and diet) and their impacts on the fear of COVID-19. The findings re-enforced the importance of applying strategic public health approaches to promote healthy lifestyles and reduce fear during the pandemic.
