In celebration of its 63rd anniversary, Taipei Medical University (TMU) Physical Education Affairs, in collaboration with its four affiliated hospitals, successfully co-hosted the TMU Sports Day.

The event attracted around 500 attendees for the opening ceremony, with approximately 1000 people participating in the games this year.

TMU incorporated the spirit of sustainable green energy into the sports day by creating digital sports handbooks, encouraging participants to use reusable utensils, and providing water dispensers instead of bottled water. Additionally, the costumes worn during the event were crafted from recycled polyester fabrics, resulting in a 25% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions, a 59% decrease in energy consumption, and a 90% reduction in water consumption. Although the impact of eco-friendly attire may seem modest, its positive effects on the environment are significant.

The success of the 2023 TMU Sports Day can be attributed to the seamless team work among the TMU staff members and the enthusiastic engagement of the participants.
