Aiming to raise awareness of TMU faculty and students toward key global issues, the Office of Global Engagement organized a month-long program themed “SDGs in Actions”.

Through online exhibitions, quizzes, and a student video contest, faculty and students got to learn more about the SDG actions from the higher education institutions.

The online exhibition highlighted TMU and partner universities’ strategies and actions on sustainable development with regard to the United Nations’ 17 SDGs. The student short film contest encouraged students to make creative videos conveying SDG concepts and how they could solve problems that all human beings face through minor deeds practiced in daily life. Through bilingual video shooting, the students were able to identify different UN SDGs and conveyed different practices. The contest entries were posted on Instagram (@SDGsinActions) and were made available to the public to inspire new ideas for a sustainable planet. These activities, meanwhile, also motivated students to demonstrate their interest in global citizenship and encouraged spontaneous learning as well as problem-solving oriented towards international learning at home.
