Aligning with government policies, we assist allied countries in cultivating the necessary talent for the development of public health and medical fields. This MoFA Taiwan Scholarship specifically opens for nationals of Taiwan’s allied countries. The application starts from April 19 and ends on May 3.
International Ph.D. Program in Medicine
Statement of purpose shall include applicant’s education background, research interest, motivations for future study, etc.

Nationalities: Nationals of Taiwan’s allied countries
All applicants must comply with the MoE (Ministry of Education) “Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan” and other applicable regulations. The decision to grant international student status is decided by citizenship status, please see key points below if you are:

For admission to a Ph.D. program, you must hold a Master’s (or equivalent) or be in your final year of Master’s study, graduating by July 2024.
For admission to a Master’s program, you must hold a bachelor’s degree or be in your final year of undergraduate study, graduating by July 2024.

All applicants must demonstrate a minimum level of English language proficiency for admission.
You will need to satisfy the required competence level for your intended program.

We strongly encourage you to take an internationally recognized test and send your scores electronically from the testing service in order to be verified. It is important that you use the correct code when sending your official scores to TMU.
English-Language Test Waiver
Applicants will be exempted from submitting English-proficiency scores if you hold a bachelor’s degree completed in its entirety in an English-speaking
country. For more details on approved English-speaking countries, please refer to the admission guideline Appendix IV.

Apart from the general entry requirements, you must meet the specific entry requirements as listed by each program. The details can be found under the Admissions Guidelines.

Applicants are required to furnish evidence of their MOFA Taiwan scholarship application during the application phase.
Admission to degree programs is processed through the Office of Global Engagement, which receives all applications, evaluates credentials and issues notification letters. Admission to the university is decided by the appropriate academic department or program.
Go to the TMU admission system to start your application process and select the correct entry term (e.g. TMU Graduate Admissions). Click on the “Apply Now” button to create an account. Activate your account by clicking on the link in the activation email sent to you.
Note: Each applicant can only own ONE account. Duplicated applications will result in disqualification automatically without any notification.
Fill out an application form and upload your documentation such as proof of nationality, academic credentials, and other supporting documents required by programs for academic review such as CV, study plan, certificate of language proficiency.
Remember to preview your application before submitting. Application content cannot be modified once you complete submission.
All interviews take place ONLINE via the virtual meeting platform. If you are selected for interview by the program(s) for which you are applying then you will be notified of the date, time (Taiwan time GMT+8), meeting ID & password and further details through the TMU admission system. Please make sure you are familiar with WebEx and have a strong internet connection speed for the interview. In exceptional circumstances interviews may be in person, by Skype or by phone; you will be notified by the program(s) if this is the case.
Application and scholarship results will be announced in Mid-May, 2024 through the TMU admission system. If you are admitted to a program, you must confirm your acceptance by the response deadline. Failure to do so will be deemed as a rejection of the admission and scholarship offer.
